 Seeking a senior-level engineer with combined expertise in high-voltage transmission systems and/or relay protection &#38; control. 
 The role spans design, analysis, standards development, and execution across underground transmission projects and protection systems. 
 Requires independent technical ownership, cross-functional coordination, and the ability to influence design, reliability, and operational outcomes. 
 
 &#xa0; 
 Key Responsibilities: 
 
 At least any 1 of the below:
 
 Design and evaluate underground transmission systems (33kV and above), including refurbishment and new installations  
 Configure and manage relay systems using platforms such as ABB Relay, PCM600, Enervista, Accelerator, etc.  
 
 
 
 &#xa0; 
 Other Responsibilities: 
 
 Transmission Engineering (Underground &#38; HV Systems) 
 Perform cable rating and ampacity calculations; develop thermal models using tools such as CYME/CYMCAP 
 Prepare specifications, review bids, and approve field design modifications 
 Conduct feasibility studies, technical/economic evaluations, and long-term planning 
 Develop engineering sketches and oversee construction, installation, and repair activities 
 Support testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of HV cable systems 
 Collaborate with utilities, contractors, OEMs, and internal teams 
 Protection &#38; Control Engineering 
 Develop and maintain protection system standards, philosophies, and relay setting guidelines 
 Perform short circuit studies, coordination studies, and protection system analysis 
 Review relay protection designs and ensure compliance with standards 
 Support protection system upgrades, asset management, and remote monitoring initiatives 
 Evaluate new hardware/software solutions and implement system improvements 
 Provide technical support for relay issues, including off-hours troubleshooting when required 
 Cross-Functional &#38; Leadership Responsibilities 
 Act as a technical lead across transmission and protection domains 
 Coordinate with design, construction, testing, maintenance, and supply chain teams 
 Manage vendor performance and review contractor deliverables 
 Train and mentor junior engineers 
 Present technical concepts, solutions, and safety topics to internal and external stakeholders 
 Drive improvements in system reliability, safety, and operational efficiency 
 
 &#xa0; 
 Preferred Qualifications 
 
 Experience with CYME/CYMCAP or similar modeling tools 
 Knowledge of IEC 61850 and microprocessor-based relay platforms 
 Experience with fluid-filled cable systems and/or hydraulic pipeline calculations 
 Testing and commissioning experience for HV systems 
 Professional Engineer (PE) license 
 Industry involvement (EPRI, NATF, or similar) 
 Required Qualifications 
 
 Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master&#8217;s preferred) 
 Experience in power systems engineering, including transmission and/or relay protection 
 Strong experience with high-voltage systems (33kV and above) 
 Expertise in cable ampacity, thermal modeling, and transmission system design 
 Hands-on experience with relay protection systems, coordination studies, and relay software tools 
 Ability to independently analyze, troubleshoot, and make engineering decisions 
 Strong communication and stakeholder management skills</description>
