Postdoc - Aerosols in Medicine: Experiments and Device Design
The available position involves the development of aerosol delivery systems for administering dry powder antiviral aerosol during high flow nasal cannula therapy and quantification of lung delivery efficiency using fluorescence labeling with combination realistic in vitro – ex vivo airway models.  Our group has successfully developed new air-jet dry powder inhalers that can efficiency aerosolize spray-dried powder formulations with very small air-actuation volumes.  In our lab and in the collaborating VCU Department of Pharmaceutics, we produce highly dispersible spray-dried powder formulations with the capability of fluorescence labeling.  The successful applicant will integrate these components into a delivery system for administering aerosols to
