Chivers Construction, a mainline utility and heavy highway construction company, is seeking a Project Manager for our growing operations in Western PA and Eastern Ohio. The selected candidate will be responsible for contract management, project scheduling, change orders, invoicing, resource allocation and coordination, estimating and material pricing. The position includes competitive salary and benefits.
PROJECT MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Oversee assigned projects from start to finish
Develop and maintain the project CPM schedule
Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors
Thoroughly process submittals and shop drawings
Negotiate terms of agreements and obtain permits
Negotiate material purchase and subcontracts
Interact with the owner, engineer, suppliers and subcontractors
Develop and manage project documentation
Manage invoicing and change orders
Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
Analyze, manage and mitigate risks
Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in heavy highway and utility construction management
Working knowledge of construction means and methods
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and scheduling software
Knowledge of AutoCAD, Bid2Win and Foundation a plus
Ability to work with a team to complete projects within stated deadlines
Strong attention to detail
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
