We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Water Resources Engineer in our New Orleans, LA office, with experience focused on hydrologic and hydraulic aspects of Transportation Engineering projects.
Essential Roles & Responsibilities:
Assists with and performs hydrologic and hydraulic design calculations for open channel and subsurface drainage systems and/or bridge hydraulic and floodplain studies, prepare sketches, technical comparisons and similar technical work as required
Assist in conducting bridge scour analyses
Assists with planning, scheduling, and coordinating design work with the group
Review plans, details and prepare or review technical specifications, contract documents and cost estimates
Support and coordinate with Highway, Structural, and Geotechnical Engineer design teams and perform other duties as assigned
BS in Civil Engineering required, FE/EIT preferred
Plus any or all of the following:
Two or more years of experience in aspects of drainage design for transportation infrastructure projects
Two or more years of experience in aspects of Bridge and Culvert Hydraulic Analysis, Floodplain studies, scour analysis, for transportation infrastructure design
Two or more years of experience in aspects of transportation infrastructure design in the coastal environment
Knowledgeable in HEC-RAS, HY-8, SRH-2D, HydroCAD, AutoDesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis, MicroStation (including lnRoads), AutoCAD Civil 3D. Familiarity with FHWA, USACE and AASHTO design guidance
