Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure is seeking a licensed and experienced Environmental Engineer or Certified Industrial Hygienist to work in our Facilities Group. The position is based in our growing Orlando, FL office and will serve the Metro Orlando & Central Florida area. The position is full-time and would involve both marketing and technical project work. A strong seller with client contacts and experience with building sciences services, IAQ and mold, asbestos and water · intrusions issues would be the ideal candidate.
The Environmental and Facilities Engineering Professional position is responsible for two key roles: 1) marketing and business develop to support growing the business and 2} understanding the technical aspects of the position to provide proposal preparation, report preparation, review and technical management as well as client management. Technical aspects of the position would include managing, conducting, and overseeing the components of the building services line. The technical services would also include roofs, building envelope, asbestos, lead, indoor air-quality, moisture I mold and hazardous materials surveys, abatement oversight and air sampling. The ideal candidate will have current accreditations with building assessment experience and may also have accreditation in the AH ERA disciplines, currently hold or have the ability to obtain Licensed Asbestos Consultant license in
Florida and have experience related to moisture and mold concerns in facilities. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of environmental industry experience providing building-related consulting services.
Successful candidates will have experience growing building sciences and facility assessment and engineering businesses and will be capable of supporting clients within Government, Real Estate, Theme Parks, and the Industrial Commercial marketplace. Candidates must possess strong client management skills with broad application in the practice of building sciences; including experience with associated project financial management. Successful candidates will possess client relationships within the industrial, commercial, and government market sectors within the central Florida area.
Business Development and Marketing of clients in the Central Florida area
Win and develop new business to support growth in the IAQ & Building Sciences market
Project Management responsibility including proposal writing and cost estimation, client coordination and business development
Client Management & portfolio development
Assigned to projects involving building facilities, industrial hygiene, asbestos, lead and mold
Data interpretation and report preparation
Technical report review
Skills / Qualifications
Understanding & ability to conduct building sciences services
BS degree in Environmental Engineer, Industrial Hygiene, Architecture or related field with focus in building sciences and facility assessments
8+ years of experience providing building and property assessment related consulting services in educational, commercial and industrial settings
A broad engineering and environmental background is a plus
Experience in the following areas are ideal: building sciences, IAQ, mold, asbestos, roofing inspections and overall facility and building assessment related services
Certifications that would be a plus: AH ERA Building Inspector, Management Planner, Project
Designer or Florida License Asbestos Consultant (a plus), Air Monitoring Specialist, NIOSH 582 or equivalent, EPA I HUD Lead inspector (a plus) · ·
Florida Licensed Mold Assessor (preferred)
Candidates must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
Successful candidate must have the ability to work independently, be timely and thorough
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, computer competency in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel
Report writing is required
This candidate shall be proficient at developing cost proposals and have a strong command of speaking I writing in English - Proficiency in other languages is a plus
Strong technical writing skills
