The Quality Assurance Lead provides technical and professional assistance to various functions within the organization to support the achievement of quality, safety and production goals. In addition provides ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System. The QA Lead is a key resource on high risk, high exposure projects that requires specialized QA attention.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
Perform hourly inspection audits
Expert in all gaging methods
Lead trainer in proper gaging techniques - train inspectors and production personnel in proper use
Responsible for the gage calibration system
Perform Gage R&R studies and MSAs when required
Assists Production with writing Standard Operating Procedures, Standardized Work Instructions, and forms
Creating Standard Operating Procedures, Standardized Work Instructions, and forms for gaging methods
Experts in all customer product specifications
Expert in TPW material specifications
Perform or direct incoming inspection per control plan on all incoming raw materials
Participate in internal QMS auditing
Facilitate Internal and external corrective action process.
Implementation of SPC system. Define, select software and train operators on proper use
Support the development and continuous improvement of ISO documentation
Support the Quality Manager in planning plant quality systems, procedures and methodologies to meet internal and external customer expectations.
Required to participate in safety committee as a liaison
Qualifications and Skills Required
Quality Assurance experience with a focus on quality inspection systems in a high volume manufacturing environment.
Experience as an ISO internal auditor
Excellent communication, organizational, planning, problem-solving, and follow-up skills
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and deliver against aggressive schedule pressure
Technical writing and reporting capabilities
Excellent math skills
Ability to work in both inch and metric systems
Familiarity with ASTM standard testing methods
Experience producing process capability studies (Cp, Cpk, Pp, Ppk etc)
Experience with Statistical Process Control implementation and use
Very detail oriented
